Pandoro is a sweet desert bread, originating in Verona. It is plain vanilla flavoured light sponge with a vanilla sugar sprinkled over the top to resemble the Italian snow covered Alps, and serve with your favourite fruit sauce or couli.

 

It is said it be the last meal eaten by the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini before his execution in 1945.
